1. Advocacy: Websites sponsored by an organization to influence opinion.

         Domain:  .org

         Examples: NRA, Amnesty International, www.beefnutrition.org    

2. Business and Marketing: Websites that promote or sell products or services.

         Domain:  .com

         Examples: Amazon, Zappos, http://automobiles.honda.com/

3. News: Websites that provide current journalism and news.

         Domain:  .com (usually)

         Examples: BBC News, CNN, www.nytimes.com

4. Informational: Websites that provide factual information, statistics, reports, and information about government and educational agencies.

         Domain: .gov, .edu

         Examples: RCC website, White House website, http://www.epa.gov/

5. Personal: Websites owned and maintained by individuals.

          Domain: .com

          Example: http://www.kendricklamar.com
