Library Instruction

Your library instruction will take place in the library classroom and will include browsing the collection. It will be about 60 minutes long.

Before coming to class, students should:

take a valid ID and a copy of their class schedule to security to get a Student ID card.
go to the Circulation Desk at the library and ask for a barcode for their Student ID card.

During class, students will:

By the end of class, students will:

understand how to search for a book in the catalog.
understand how to search a library database.
email themselves, along with the rest of the class, an article from Health Source: Consumer Edition.
be familiar with both the Juvenile and the Adult Literacy sections of the library.

Health Source: Consumer Edition
This EBSCO database will familiarize students with many of the databases they will use as they continue in their studies. The articles are short and easy to read, while providing helpful information on medicine, sickness, and health.
