Ebooks and Articles

If you're looking for ebooks, you can access the library catalog here: https://rcc-catalog.helmlib.org/. Please remember to limit the "resource types" filter to "ebooks" after you search. Physical library books are not available at this time due to COVID-19.

If you want to search all of our resources at once, go to the library homepage and use the RCC Library Search box. If you only want to search for articles, select the "Articles" tab just above the search box.

If you're looking for articles on controversial social and political issues, check out these databases:

  • Global Issues in Context offers international viewpoints on a broad spectrum of global issues, topics, and current events. The database features specially selected, highly relevant sources for analysis of social, political, military, economic, environmental, health, and cultural issues.
  • Issues and Controversies helps researchers understand the crucial issues we face today, exploring more than 800 hot topics in business, politics, government, education, and popular culture.
  • Opposing Viewpoints in Context is a one-stop source for information on today's relevant and controversial social issues. It features viewpoint articles, topic overviews, magazine, academic journal, and newspaper articles, primary source documents, statistics, images, podcasts, and links to websites.
  • Points of View Reference Center contains resources that present multiple sides of an issue. This database provides rich content that can help students assess and develop persuasive arguments and essays, better understand controversial issues and develop analytical thinking skills.
